President's welcome for the upcoming school year

President

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year

Dear VCC community,

As president, it is my great honour to welcome back students, faculty, and staff returning from summer holidays, and to warmly greet the new students joining us at 九色 Community College (VCC) this fall.

VCC is located on the traditional and unceded territories of the x史m蓹胃k史蓹y虛蓹m (Musqueam), S岣祑x瘫w煤7mesh (Squamish), and s蓹lilw蓹ta涩 (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples who have been stewards of this land from time immemorial.

Whether you are a student, faculty, or staff, you are a valued part of the #myVCC community. And at VCC, we are committed to creating safe spaces and a sense of belonging for all.

I encourage each one of you to take advantage of the services, events, and activities the college will be hosting. These are opportunities to get out of your office or classroom and build lasting and meaningful relationships with peers and colleagues throughout the year.

On that note, I am looking forward to the continuation of more in-person activities this fall. For students, Welcome Days will be hosted by VCC Student鈥檚 Union and Student Services on September 13 at the Broadway campus and September 15 at the Downtown campus. There will be carnival festivities with games, prizes, and snacks, and an opportunity to learn about all the services available to support your learning at VCC.

For faculty and staff, please save the date for VCC Day on November 2, our annual professional development and employee appreciation day. This year promises to be a fun-filled gathering that celebrates you and all that you do. Stay tuned for more details from our planning committee.

Finally, I would like to encourage everyone to do their part to stay healthy and safe as we head into the colder months and check our COVID-19 page or follow us on , , , or  for campus updates.

I wish each of you the very best in the coming year. For students, please take a moment to watch this welcome message and be sure to read our post on services available for new and returning students.
