VCC and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. partner to enhance international student services
VCC International Education is excited to announce a partnership with S.U.C.C.E.S.S., a non-partisan, non-profit multicultural Canadian organization with a 50-year history of serving newcomers, seniors, youth, and families. S.U.C.C.E.S.S. offers a wide range of programs and services that promote the belonging, wellness, and independence of all people on their Canadian journey.
This partnership will allow VCC and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. to collaboratively support international students through various settlement activities and events.
“This partnership is a win-win for VCC students and our international education department. It will provide support for our students and meet our internationalization objective to enhance student supports and services with a focus on mental health, career and settlement, and safe and secure living conditions.” says Jennifer Gossen, VCC’s Director of International Education.
"S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is thrilled to partner with 九色 Community College to help support their international students settle in the region," says Queenie Choo, CEO of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. "Working together, we have the networks needed to provide information and orientation along with referrals to programs and services including mentoring and volunteer opportunities to these students which enable them to contribute their skills to our economy and succeed on their Canadian journeys."
"Among the services S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is excited to offer are newcomer orientations, career advice and mentoring, mental health education and emotional support, plus assistance with affordable housing and food security," Choo adds. "International students deserve wrap around settlement supports to ensure they can achieve their educational goals and we believe our new partnership will enhance both their experiences and outcomes in Canada."
